This myth is FALSE, but in many cases it’s true, because, home buyers are willing to pay more for a home if it has the features and renovation that they are searching for.
Example: Kitchens, bathrooms and curb appeal are what most buyers are searching for in 2015.
This is why you should invest your money where it counts, into the areas of your home that buyers are searching for, versus investing your money into areas of your home buyers don’t necessarily care about.
Myth #2 – If a Buyers Doesn’t Like the Exterior of Your Home, They Won’t Go Inside
Yes, this myth is TRUE.
Most buyers are influenced by curb appeal so if your home has a poorly maintained landscape, bad exterior paint job, or garbage sitting on the property, a buyer will be less inclined to get out of their car to visit your home, even if it’s been recently remodeled on the inside.
Myth #3 – Homes with Green Features like LEED Certification ALWAYS Sell for Higher Listing
Sadly, this myth is false.
Buyers are willing to almost always pay the market value for a home, regardless if its LEED certified or not, because, they can always purchase a comparable home that doesn’t have green features and add those features to the home later.
